World Marine & Offshore Supply Company is a registered bunker trading company, who has been supplying duty-free/duty-paid marine gas oil, fuel oil and marine lubricants to a wide range of clientele in the following industries:
• Southern African fishing Industry – both locally and internationally,
• Global Fishing Industry
• Shipping Industry – container-liners, cargo carriers, pipelayers, reefer vessels etc.
• Diamond mining Industry (Namibia)
• Navy vessels
• Research Industry –Hydrographic Vessels, Research Vessels, Seismic/Survey Vessels.
World Marine began their operations in the late eighties under the directorship of Mr GR Louw, focussing on the establishment of infrastructure to the diamond mining companies in Angola. In addition, he supplied bunkers to the International/fishing companies. He specialised in supplying lubricants, marine gas oil and fuel oil, by means of tanker lorry, pipeline and barge. His performance was recognised by Tramp oil of London, and they awarded him exclusive supplier rights. In 2001, he sold his Angolan operation to Mvelaphanda Holdings; a Johannesburg based black empowerment company, championed by Tokyo Sexwale. Values such as, trust, reliability and sincere business ethics have brought us to where we stand today. They have helped to establish World Marine as one of the most reliable south African owned bunker trading companies in Southern Africa and just as surely, they will take us forward, where we are certain to reap the future rewards. Our client base has grown tremendously and we have extended our operations to more global ports worldwide.
