Background         Our Social Investment

In 2003, World Marine & Offshore Supply Company, in its endeavour to empower the previously historically disadvantaged community, made a visionary decision to take steps which would demonstrate our willingness to put back into the community and contribute towards Black Economic Empowerment. Our first step towards this was the establishment of a Non Governmental Organisation, HDI Support, founded by one of World Marine & Offshore’s directors’. Its aim, to alleviate the suffering of low-income communities in the Western Cape left homeless due to natural disasters, most commonly, fires and floods.  Assistance is generally in the form of feeding, clothing and food packs. The operations manager, Andre Olivier coordinates the operations of HDI Support, and provides assistance on a 24 hour basis.

As a result of our current performance we are a preferred supplier to the government, supplying food packs as part of the Emergency Food Program to these areas.  A close working relationship with the City Council Disaster Control Unit has ensued from the experiences in dealing with disasters.
Mr Louw, who had since been joined by his two daughters, Ellen Louw as a director and Gherda Louw as a bunker trader, continued his bunkering service currently under World Marine & Offshore Supply Company, in South Africa. In addition, to be able to provide for his client’s chandelling requirements, he acquired Natware (Pty) Ltd. This procurement company, Natware (Pty) Ltd, has the capability, of providing stores and supplies to local and international customers and prides itself on being able to procure virtually any brand of provisional products from their range of local suppliers.
